the souplings update

week two of four. the kitchen gets a pet, jeff gets a side, and most of the numbers move.

new: souplings

• !adopt to pick a starter: soupling, noodle, or crumb. once per person. the starter is cosmetic
• !feed <soup> once per window feeds your pet a soup you own. the soup is not used up
• every soup now has one of six attributes: spicy, salty, hearty, light, cursed, blessed. your pet remembers what it eats
• the first 12 feeds are free. from feed 13, a feed costs 10 broth
• at 12 feeds your pet evolves, based on what it has eaten most. at 54 feeds it evolves again, based on what it has eaten most and how mixed its diet was. 72 possible forms
• evolving pays 100 broth the first time and 300 the second
• a lorded soup counts as two feeds
• each pet wants one soup at a time, always one you do not own. feeding it that soup counts double. the favourite re-rolls at each evolution
• !pet shows your pet, !pet @name shows someone else's, !pets shows the whole channel
• !reroll costs 500 broth and starts your pet over

new: ask and feed

• !ask <soup> posts a request for a soup you do not own
• anyone who owns it can !feed @you, and your pet eats it
• filling a request pays the giver 10 broth and costs nothing
• one open request per person, one fill per person per stream. requests expire at the end of the window
• !asks lists every open request

new: eggs and jefflings

• every serve has a 1 in 500 chance to leave an egg in the bowl. the person served gets it
• the egg hatches on your next !feed into a jeffling: a second pet with its own feed count that eats alongside your soupling
• the jeffling evolves once, at 12 feeds
• one egg at a time, one jeffling ever. hatching pays 100 broth and puts you on jeff's side

new: sides

• everyone starts in the kitchen. !side jeff to switch, !side kitchen to come back. free, once per week
• the kitchen earns +3 broth whenever anyone feeds jeff, double pay on ult rescues, and +1 xp per serve while his mood is over 60
• jeff's side earns +3 broth whenever jeff eats a soup, gets eaten half as often, and +1 xp per serve while his mood is under 40
• a jeffling doubles everything on jeff's side. switching back to the kitchen leaves the jeffling with jeff
• new command !taunt: 10 broth, drops jeff's mood by 5 (10 with a jeffling)
• !jeff now shows his mood, how many jefflings are in chat, and the count on each side

new: random, everywhere

• every command that takes a name accepts random: !soup random, !feed random, !ask random, !gift random
• random pays +2 broth over picking someone yourself
• random favours people who have not been served this window, then people served least, then newcomers
• !random on its own suggests something to do

new: quests

• three daily quests, the same for everyone, posted at stream start. 50 broth each
• one weekly quest, 500 broth, resets monday
• quests never involve gambling or spending
• !quests shows tonight's

lord and champion

• lord now takes 300 xp on one soup, up from 120. level thresholds: 15, 40, 70, 105, 145, 190, 240, 270, 300
• everyone who lorded a soup before this update keeps it
• new: champion at 900 xp on one soup. announced like lord, with a trophy in place of the crown
• a champion soup's effect is tripled where lord doubles it. more champion effects are coming
• players already past 900 become champion on their next serve

new sources: 50 per daily quest, 500 per weekly, 3 per side payout, 10 per filled ask, 100 per hatch, 100 and 300 per evolution. feeding costs 10 after the free feeds. all other costs are unchanged.

four new soups

each has a passive and a !use. supply-locked and handed out by hand.

• toothy soup (mythic). passive: whoever you serve gets +100 broth. use: everyone in chat gets 200 broth
• unlemonade soup (legendary). passive: every ⬜ in the channel pays you 5 broth. use: everyone's window resets
• oscar soup (legendary). passive: everyone who serves while you are in chat gets +2 broth. use: jeff stops eating for 10 minutes
• aku soup (legendary). passive: jeff can never eat your soup. use: everyone in chat becomes aku soup until stream end

removed

• ingredients: salt, garlic, goodstuff, and clover
• !add
• the ingredient branch of !craft. crafting is soups only
• the pantry line in !soupcheck
• existing pantries refund at purchase price

the site

• new pages: souplings and every command
• every soup page shows its attribute, and the menu can filter by it
• soup pages show live data from the books: who owns it, who lords it, and who is closest
• how it works has the new numbers, a glossary, sides, quests, and random
• player pages redesigned: a collection bar, your soupling, champion soups, and records
• the whole kitchen shows souplings, sides, best-fed pets, and channel totals
• two new leaderboards: champions and best fed soupling
• search finds people by twitch name
• a phone tab bar, grouped navigation, and a color and icon refresh across the site
